I’m Sarah Siegfried!

Through the virtual life, I’ve been able to enjoy spending more time with my husband, pets and friends doing the things I love to do. I’m now able to spend more time on my volunteer work without having to worry about my income.

I’ve tried my hand at a lot of different skills – sometimes for income and sometimes just for fun.

Professionally, I’ve worked in several different areas. Before I even started working, I knew I wanted my main focus to be on my volunteer work rather than on my work. So I always looked for part-time because I knew I wanted a flexible schedule that would allow me to do just that.

I don’t think the work you get paid for has to be your identity. That mindset has given me the space to try lots of cool new things! And also helped me explore so many different skills.

I've worked cleaning businesses and houses, pet-sitting, in-home healthcare, as a receptionist, admin support, a virtual assistant, business manager, COO, coach and now online course creator.

I’ve always enjoyed seeing how I can make processes better – I’ve found the skill applies anywhere. My VA Journey

In the Virtual arena, I started out as a VA on Upwork. (I also tried freelancer and basically applied to every remote job online for years before then 😵) And once I learned how to set up my profile the right way to attract clients, it wasn't long before my very first VA client and I found each other!

And we were the perfect fit for each other (and still are)! 🥳

I started out on hourly pay and my client quickly moved me to a retainer as she fell in love with my work.

And I was just so happy to have an income that allowed me to work part-time and live in Mexico!

I was skeptical at first of her online course, but was soon blown away by the success of her students. And it wasn't long until I tried my hand at what she was teaching as well. It was fun, but I realized I loved my VA work even more.

As new tasks or skills needed doing, I would volunteer to learn them. And she would pay me to do the research or take a course to learn those skills. Guys, I was getting paid to learn!!! (Any other nerds out there?🤓)

That's how I went from answering emails and updating spreadsheets to becoming the tech support for an entire business. 🙀

And the learning hasn't stopped. I've gone on to learn how to run Facebook ads, set up everything to run a business, an online course, manage teams, set up youtube, coach students with my clients and so much more!

I also know if there's something I don't know how to do, someone has put the instructions for it somewhere online. I just need to find them and follow it line by line. And yes I always vet them first to make sure it's not some AI chat bot or fake guru who hasn't actually done the thing and will give non-helpful generic advice.
